Review: Quarter Super Charge Powerbank

It seems like these days we just can’t survive the day without recharging our phones, which is why I consider an external battery to be a must-have accessory. Luckily for us, there are hundreds of models to choose from, and they range in prices, capacities, and materials, so I am positive you can find the perfect one for a great price as well. However, there’s one important catch that anyone interested in purchasing an external battery should be aware of. Not all of them can perform as advertised and, as our reviews already showed, many batteries fail to meet their official specifications. This is why it is important to take a look at a couple of reviews, just like this one, and make sure the product you’re buying won’t disappoint you. As a reviewer, I’ve encountered numerous battery packs that failed to meet our expectations by not providing sufficient power and offering very slow charging speeds, even though there are also a lot of those that work as advertised.

In this article, we are taking a look at a product that is not even released yet. However, we managed to get a unit to test it for ourselves, and if you pre-order it, you will be able to get it very soon. We will be taking a look at Quarter Super Charge Powerbank, made by Beaver Electronics, priced at $59. However, you can preorder it right now for only $39. Continue reading to see what is so interesting about this product.

Quarter Super Charge Powerbank can be hooked up to your MacBook’s MagSafe power adapter cord and be fully recharged in 15 minutes – which sounds amazing! This is actually the first battery pack to feature this kind of connection, making me wonder why we had to wait for so long. Naturally, you can also charge this battery using a typical micro-USB cable, but this should take some time for the battery to be fully recharged. According to the company, this battery pack can be recharged via 1-Amp micro-USB input in about 7 hours, which turned out to be correct according to our tests.

When it comes to capacity, the Super Charge Powerbank comes with a 5,000-mAh battery inside, so you can fully recharge your iPhone 6S Plus and still have some juice left. On the other hand, if you own the newest iPhone 6S model, you will be able to recharge your phone two and a half times, or differently said – you will get 250% of additional power. We tested this battery using a fully drained iPhone 6S and managed to get a bit over 240%, which is very close to what the manufacturer claims. In addition, the Super Charge did manage to be fully recharged in about 15 minutes using the MagSafe adapter, which I am sure will be the main reason why many of you are going to purchase this product. What is also helpful to be mentioned is that Quarter Super Charge offers a 2.1-Amp output for your iPhone, iPad, and iPod with a full-sized USB port, while it recharges itself at up to 3-Amp speeds. Additionally, you can purchase a Quarter Car Adapter that can get you the same amazing recharging speeds as the MagSafe. The car adapter is priced at $16 and should be sent to you along the battery pack – in case you decide to preorder it.

In addition, the Super Charge looks amazing. Its brushed-aluminum chassis nicely complements any Apple-made product, and it is super-portable thanks to its small dimensions. What I especially liked is that there aren’t any buttons on the device. When you plug-in any cable, the battery pack will start recharging itself or will recharge the connected device. To check how much juice there’s left, simply shake the battery once, which will trigger up to four blue LED lights. As you can see from the images in this article, Quarter Super Charge Powerbank is very Apple-like and will fit nicely on your desk along with any Apple-designed device. It is also quality made, and I am sure you will be able to use it for a very long time.

If you’re currently looking for an external battery pack for your iPhone, I strongly recommend to take a look at this product’s fund-raising page at Pozible and make your contribution. This is one of the most useful products from this category that I tried in a very long time.

Finally, I will give you a hint. If you preorder it right now, you won’t only have to pay $39 (which sounds like an amazing deal), but you can also engrave it as well.

On a different note, Apple owns the patent rights to MagSafe for exclusive use with its own products but can allow other companies to create accessories using this same technology. This is why we haven’t seen a battery pack like this one before. Upon further research, I learned that the company (Beaver Electronics) decided to take the risk after contacting Apple about the use of MagSafe but continued with their plans without receiving an answer. This is why it might be risky to preorder this amazing battery pack, but this surely doesn’t mean that you won’t get it. Either way, you will receive your money back from the crowdsourcing website in case anything happens. According to Beaver Electronics, Quarter Super Charge Powerbank will start shipping out around November 15th, with about 1000 units ready to be shipped. This still leaves you some time to preorder in case you are interested since 427 supporters showed interested and already invested.
