Apple’s 4-inch iPhone 6C set for April 2016 launch?

According to a recent discovery, Chine Mobile might be planning for an April 2016 launch of a new 4-inch iPhone 6C. This can be seen from a product launch calendar from Apple’s carrier partner.

The rumored release date comes from a presentation from China Mobile, which can be seen from the image bellow. The upper tight box of the chart shown onscreen mentions a new Apple handset launching in April of 2016. However, Apple typically updates its flagship handsets in the fall timeframe. It would seem unlikely that a new handset will debut before an ‘iPhone 7’.

iPhone 6C Report

The so-called iPhone 6C has been the subject of numerous rumors in the recent months. It is believed that Apple is working on a new, smaller model that features an A9 processor and comes with Apple Pay support. This model should replace the iPhone 5S, at the $449 price range. On the other hand, this also means that features like the 3D Touch will be omitted, but it will sport a metal chassis.

As we wrote earlier, this new rumor lines up with a recent report claiming Apple is planning for a March 2016 event. It is said that a smaller iPhone will be presented as this event, along with a second-generation Apple Watch. You can read more about this report in our article.
